Commodore Gaio is a leader in the Solarian Army and the fourth opponent faced by the player in Niria Tactics.

He expresses deep regret at the actions of Solaria, but nevertheless vows to save his own people.

Gaio follows the tradition of GameDevDan self-inserts into GMC Jam games, but since the game is set in the distant future he is a distant descendant.

After the player beats the main story of the game they can challenge Gaio to a game of "chess"
